Jennifer Friedrich Wood and Madeleine Lapke, both certified (PPR) pickleball coaches, started Frog Rock Pickleball in 2023 with the goal of teaching people about the sport — on and off the court. Our approach to tours and events is to provide a great experience for our guests, helping them learn more about pickleball, and most importantly, making sure they have an amazing time!
Madeleine Lapke is a youth advocate, teacher, and business owner. She brings hospitality full circle. She is a Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR) certified coach and a Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) ambassador. She coaches pickleball at Eastside Tennis Center/TOPs, in Kirkland, WA to youth and adults. As a coach, her unique style helps players of all ages bridge the challenge of learning and getting fit with fun and success. She brings laughter and builds connections with each player. It is Madeleine's belief that pickleball can change the world.
Jennifer Friedrich Wood is a native of Bainbridge Island and cares for the land and the sport where pickleball was founded. Frog Rock was founded with attention to the island's history, the founders, and the community who continue to grow the sport. Tennis is Jen's first love, but pickleball is part of her island heritage. Her career in nonprofit management, formerly the Executive Director of the Bainbridge Island Boys & Girls Club, dovetailed into raising her own girls club of three daughters. She recently graduated with a Masters in Hospitality & Tourism Management from San Diego State. She is a Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR) Coach, and a growing Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) coach. Jennifer sees a win when "we LOVE ALL sports, including pickleball and tennis."
